Trustee Angela Powell, who won reelection for a second 4 year term in May 2021, has decided to run for another elected position while maintaining her seat on the Plano ISD Board of Trustees.
Trustee Powell has filed a treasurer appointment for Collin County Tax Assessor. She ran on a trustee campaign of Students First that now competes for her availability, attention, and focus on campaigning for Collin County Tax Assessor.
There has been social media calls for her to Resign to Run. A major concern is that as a Plano ISD Trustee she approves the tax rate for our property taxes yet is actively running for a position that collects the tax rate that she has approved.
Trustee Powell is a graduate of UT Dallas with a Health Service Management Degree. Currently she works full time at Harmony Public Schools (a charter school) and owns an T-shirt printing business.
