ICYMI: Nothing to See Here, Agendas Hiding Vital Details

Before Superintendent Williams’ appointment to her position, when the Board Agenda was published days ahead of the meeting (as required by state law), the matters which would be voted on and presented in open session were plainly available for the public to see.

Not any more.

Superintendent Williams in coordination with former School Board President David Stolle and current President Nancy Humphrey, has ensured those items, which appear as attachments to each related agenda item (such as presentations, spreadsheets, and documents), are not made available until after the Board meeting has occurred.

As a result, the public is left with very vague agenda items to try to determine what the Board will be taking up for a vote. This intentionally prevents meaningful communication with stakeholders before a vote occurs, whether that is through phone calls, emails, or even public comments to the Board at that particular meeting where the matter is voted on.

For a District that repeatedly touts its transparency, here is yet another intentional concealment.
