The Unofficial Guide to Plano ISD

Behind Closed Doors

In light of our last article, we did a deeper dive into how much time these surrounding districts spend in closed session compared to Plano ISD.

Now we understand that some of the issues are necessary in closed session, such as security measures, however, other issues like STAAR results seem questionable.

These closed session discussion topics are common to school districts, yet other districts are able to address these topics more effectively and in less time. Keeping in mind that outside attorneys are often if not always present in closed session, that means those are billable hours that are costing taxpayers.

Additionally, the length of time has raised suspicions that more is happening behind closed doors that should be occurring transparently in open session.
